Do you
sell Stiffel™ Lamps?
No, we do not sell Stiffel™ lamps. At times, we do carry Stiffel™
lamps on consignment, but as a general rule, we are not a distributor
at this time.
Can
you tell me how I can polish my item myself?
We wish we could tell you how to polish your brass, silver, copper,
bronze or pewter item, but we cannot. If we did divulge this type of
information, we would not be in business very long. Sorry, but this
information is a trade secret. You can always break out the bottle of
brasso and see how long your item will last.
Can
you appraise my item?
We are not licensed appraisers. We will not appraise your item,
but we can lead you in the right direction. For a great book on brass

How
do I know my item is really brass?
Hover a magnet over the object you think is brass. If the magnet does
not stick to the object, it is most likely solid brass. If the magnet
does stick to it, it might be brass plated. Sometimes you can be fooled
by other metal alloys that may be under brass plated items. Some metals
used under brass plated items, are not magnetic and cannot be detected.
To be absolutely sure, you will need to send it to us.
Can
you polish silver plated items?
Yes, we can polish silver plated items. But if your silver plated dish
has much of the silver plating worn off, we cannot replate this for
you. We can polish what silver plating is left.
Is
my item bronze?
It is very hard to detect if an item is bronze. Bronze will look like
brass and sometimes copper. You would definitely need to send it to
us so we can decide what metal your item is.
Do
you repair clocks?
We do polish brass clocks and brass the detail on grandfather clocks,
but we do not repair the hardware of clocks. If you are a local customer,
we can refer you to someone.
Can
you tell me how to fix my lamp?
The only thing we can tell you is to send it to us for repair.
Can
you polish memorial plaques made out of brass or bronze?
Yes, please send us an email, call or write and tell us the details.
How
do I send my item to you for processing?
Please refer to our Services page. This will give you a good idea on
the process.
How
long will it take to finish my item?
Most jobs take between 2-3 weeks. For special jobs, the time frame might
be a substantially longer.
Are
you insured?
Yes, we are insured. You can rest comfortably when sending your items.
In addition, items are also insured by us when sending back to customers.
We like to encourage our customers to do the same when sending them.
